The period  was around 1976 ~ I was deeply in personal problems. I had discontinued my MSc [ Mathematics ] at IIT Mumbai. I did an MA [ Philosopy ] from Kerala University, where the results were withheld because of my complete lack of attendance! My father wanted me to take up a job, get married etc.

I had thought about Infinite Laboratories of Babel, seen the tragic absurdity of theoretical sciences, the fraudulent nature of theories like those  of Darwin Freud etc.. I had clearly seen the Eternal limitations of the so called Sciences I had recognized that a mystical way out was there! I wanted to go to the Himalayas seeking a divine Guru like my classical precursors.

It was then that I had this divine dream.

It was the terrain of Himalayas ~ The snow-clad mountains of infinity engulfed me. I found myself among a group of devout pilgrims chanting divine mantram-s like “shiva shambho” and participating in an ecstatic dance weaving towards Kailash perhaps! After some time[!!] I realized I must get out of the web I was in. I weaved my way out of the  seamless crowd moving up towards the hidden destination and found myself in front of a beautiful valley: I saw a narrow path leading to a cul-de-sac. I suddenly recognized that, that was the path I had to pursue! I  hurried on the path carefully and recognized a beatific golden form of a Yogi sitting far away. I ran then and re-cognized him as Sri Aurobindo (old and and silver- haired). There was a divine luminosity all around ~ There were shining rocks and the valley lay behind hanging on the sky. I think nothing and fall at his feet and cling. He arches down blesses me. Then it was all golden light!

Later I recognized it was a task dream my great Guru had set for me. To seek and discover him !! I read a biography of Sri Aurobindo around the time: { the book was attracting me from the book stall everytime I passed by and finally i bought it and read it. }

It may be mentioned that I had hardly read Sri Aurobindo and actually read many of his works after 1980AD.
